Circus elephants in the 1950s used to be kept outside, and not in cages.


Because from an early age,

The elephants were restrained by a piece of rope tied to their leg at one end, and a pole at the other.

When they were young, that was enough to restrain them.
But as the elephants got older, and could easily break the rope and escape 

They did nothing.

That’s because they had been conditioned to believe that the rope is strong enough to hold them back.

And the same is true for you.

You have been conditioned to believe that you’ll never reach your dream goals, because everyone is protecting you from failure and disappointment.

You're conditioned to believe that you’ll never be able to play at the level you're dreaming of...

Even though deep down you know you can do it if you can just follow through
